They say that diamonds are a girl's best friend, but I'm going to have to disagree. Chocolate is the only way to go when it comes to something that brings delight in spite of your everyday woes. This decadent treat packs the perfect combination of seduction and tastiness. Fortunately, dallaschocolate.org came up with the brilliant idea to host a day full of sinful delights a few years back. The Chocolate Conference features local and national chocolatiers, as well as educational courses that teach you the ins and outs of chocolate. So, bring your sweet tooth as you gear up for lectures with chocolate connoisseurs including Art Polland from Amano Artisan Chocolate and classes including The Mystique of Chocolate Plastique. The sugar rush is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Addison Conference Centre (15650 Addison Road). Tickets range from $15 to $20 and $5 to $6 for children. Dallas Chocolate and the Adolphus Hotel are sponsors for the conference. For more information or registration, call 972-208-6771 or visit dallaschocolate.org.
Sat., Aug. 27, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., 2011
