On September 11, 2001, 19 men coordinated a vile attack against targets they considered symbolic of an evil empire to avenge U.S. support of Israel and its perceived wrongdoings in the Middle East. On September 11, 2010, the 25 or so men on the Rangers' active roster will coordinate a heroic attack against the true Evil Empire, so that they might avenge the three-game sweep that the New York Yankees inflicted upon Texas last month. For Derek Jeter, Jorge Posada and the rest of the Bronx Bombers, Patriot Day is about to have a few more bad memories to associate with it -- as will 9/10 and 9/12, while we're at it. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m. Saturday. If still available, tickets for the game (and for Friday's 7:05 p.m. and Sunday's 2:05 p.m. games) start at $11 and are available at 817-273-5100 or texasrangers.com.
Sat., Sept. 11, 7:05 p.m., 2010
