If you're familiar with Joel McHale and The Soup, you've probably seen segments featuring Cee Dub, the champion of Dutch oven (cast-iron cookware) campfire cooking. Dub--aside from being a small-screen sensation--is a fan of the Lone Star Dutch Oven Society. On his website he boasts: "After I checked out [its] site the first time I called the president and asked if one had to be a Texan to join. When he said 'No,' I sent them a check. Dutch oven cooking is alive and well in the Lone Star State thanks to the folks of the Lone Star Dutch Oven Society." Thus, we're guessing he'd want you to head on over to the Log Cabin Village, 2100 Log Cabin Village Lane in Fort Worth, this Saturday for the Praire Dog Chapter of the LSDOS's Dutch Oven Cooking Demonstration from 1 to 4 p.m. It's free after regular Village admission ($4 to $4.50) and no reservations are required. Visit logcabinvillage.org for more details. Make Cee Dub proud.
Sat., Jan. 8, 1-4 p.m., 2011
