Michael Bublé is the incarnation of everything I hate about adult contemporary music. His latest album, It's Time, is tasteless, dry and uninspired pap, a childish rehash of Rat Pack standards and puffy, sax-tastic leftovers from a Robert Downey Jr. recording session that would scare every trace of VD from Frank Sinatra's corpse. Figures, then, that my mother is a huge fan of the guy's music. Granted, this opinion comes from the woman who enjoys Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights more than the original, who hates any jazz recorded before 1979 and who hasn't yet given up her cassette tape Walkman so that she can still listen to her old Taylor Dayne tapes. But it's not like Mama Machkovech is the only person who gets a kick out of Bublé’s style. His straight-and-narrow stuff is the cream of 107.5 The Oasis' elevator-ready crop, so kudos to the guy for finding his niche and milking it with a concert whose tickets start at 59 freakin' bucks.
