Art. Huh! Good God, y'all, what is it good for? Come to the McKinney Avenue Contemporary and find out. The MAC will display the work of three talented local artists Saturday through April 25. David Dreyer, who earned his BFA and MFA from SMU, will have some recent paintings and sculpture on display in the Square Gallery. Dryer uses his painting and sculpture to explore the dynamics of change in nature. Photographer David H. Gibson's work will be on display in the Large Gallery. He's had the privilege of taking part in workshops led by the likes of Ansel Adams, and his early career as a theatrical lighting and set designer comes shining through in his photographs, which show a great understanding of light and how it affects our emotional responses to images by hiding and revealing forms. The sculpture of David Eugene Everett can be viewed in the New Works Space. Everett carves and paints beautiful wood sculptures of humans and animals. Many of these sculptures have movable body parts so they can be viewed in a variety of ways. Apparently Everett's mother never taught him not to play with his art.
