Dear Mrs. Kennedy ...
This has certainly been the Year of the Kennedy with all the hullabaloo over the anniversary of the JFK assassination. Amidst all the talk about conspiracies and the City of Hate and what this all means for America, there’s been little discussion about other people more intimately affected by the murder — the president’s wife. The Dallas Film Society will present Letters to Jackie, a documentary directed by Bill Couturié, about the hundreds of thousands of letters mailed to Jackie Kennedy after her husband’s assassination. Twenty of the most noteworthy letters will be read by various stars, including Frances McDormand and Octavia Spencer. Anne Hathaway also appears reading the letter of Janis Crabtree of Dallas (who is scheduled to attend the screening). The movie starts at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Winspear Opera House, 2403 Flora St. Tickets are free, and AT&T Center just released a few hundred more. They’re first-come, first-served.
