Hey, all you cool cats. Can you really dig it? Are you ready to ease on down, boogie woogie and shake your ruby red groove thing to some funkadelic sounds while you follow the yellow brick road? Join in on the dynamite and out-of-sight story of Dorothy and her psychedelic crew with Dallas Theater Center and Dallas Black Dance Theatre's presentation of the 1975 Broadway musical The Wiz. Rock on with the Cowardly Lion, the Scarecrow and the Tin Man to tunes from this Tony award-winning production including "Ease on down the Road" "So You Wanted to See the Wizard" and "Don't Nobody Bring Me No Bad News". Just watch out for that far out tornado, click those foxy heels and remember there's no place like home, baby. Ease on down, ease on down and ease on down the road. The show is directed by Kevin Moriarty with music and lyrics by Charlie Smalls and features Hassan El-Amin as Henry and the Wiz and Liz Mikel as Addaperle and Evilienne. The Wiz takes place July 8 through August 7 at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre, 2400 Flora St. Tickets are $15-80. For more information call 214-526-8210 or visit dallastheatercenter.org.
