Chances are, if you are an NPR fan, you’ve had breakfast with Diane Rehm on a number of occasions, though it was likely more “granola bar behind the wheel” than five-star cuisine. A staple of the morning commute, Rehm’s daily show illuminates and inspires, bringing civilized but cogent analysis and trenchant political debate to listeners across the nation. But you have the rare opportunity to dine with America’s favorite intellectual sophisticate at Dinner With Diane Rehm, an evening benefiting the Dystonia Association of Dallas and presented by Future Horizons. The evening begins with cocktails at 6:30 p.m. Friday, followed by an intimate dinner and then address by Rehm, discussing her own struggles with and triumph over Spasmodic Dysphonia (SD). Taking place at the Four Seasons Resort and Club at 4150 MacArthur Blvd. in Irving, the evening lasts until 10, and prices range from $150 per individual or $1,250 per table of 10. Reserve tickets in advance by calling 800-489-0727 or visiting dianespeaks.org.
