You gotta love those theater peeps. Their resilience to adversity merely to provide stage works to the masses can always be counted on. Despite losing Bootstraps Theater earlier this year and a not-so-subtle economic collapse, some crazy artists went and opened a new company this fall. Upstart Productions begin their inaugural season with the Pulitzer-winning drama Topdog/Underdog, about two brothers coping with racism, addictions and women. Not a bad choice for a new company looking to make a mark on the scene. Neither is the two-man cast of David Jeremiah and Christopher Dontrell Piper, who also co-direct the show. You might know them from such companies as Shakespeare Dallas, Jubilee Theater and Watertower. Topdog/Underdog runs through November 23 at the Dallas Hub Theater, 2809 Canton St. Tickets are $15. Call 877-238-5596 or visit UpstartTheater.com.
Fridays, Saturdays, 8:15 p.m.; Sundays, 2:30 p.m. Starts: Nov. 7. Continues through Nov. 23, 2008
