Dr. Who’s on What Now? Third Base!
When series seven of Doctor Who concluded in May, the 11th Doctor confronted a new Time Lord. It turns out now — brace yourself — that the unknown man is actually the Eighth Doctor who drank a potion to regenerate into the War Doctor to battle in the Time War. I KNOW! Can you believe it?! The Eighth freaking Doctor! I mean … OK, what’s with the puzzled look and why are you edging away from me? No, I don’t need any medication. Just take my word for it, this is huge, which is why fans will queue up this Monday at the special screening of the show’s 50th anniversary special, Doctor Who: The Day of the Doctor. The theatrical event features a special introduction, a 10-minute behind-the-scenes clip following the special, and appearances by the 10th Doctor and Rose Tyler (just go with it). Watch this rare collision from the longest-running sci-fi series at NorthPark Center 15 (8687 N. Central Expressway), Cinemark 17 (11819 Webb Chapel Road) and Galaxy Theatre (11891 McCree Road). Showtime starts at 7:30 p.m., with another at 10 p.m. Tickets cost $12.50 and $15 for the 3-D version. For more information, visit fathomevents.com.
