Dumping Out the Mind's File Cabinet
For art seekers looking to test their understanding of memory and the irreplaceable imprints of past experiences, an exhibition of new works by Gael Stack may be a decent place to start. Stack uses brief messages and overlapping sketches to reflect memory's complexity, and uses the concept of Sigmund Freud's "mystic writing pad" to detail the message of her drawings. The collection of works is entitled Forty One Songs and will premier at the Holly Johnson Gallery, located on 1411 Dragon St. Stack's works will be on display 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays until November 12. For more information about the exhibition or the gallery, call 214-369-0169 or visit hollyjohnsongallery.com.
Tuesdays-Saturdays. Starts: Oct. 15. Continues through Nov. 12, 2011
