Remote Control: Wayne Carr and one of his textbooks

It's no wonder that the military is a source of so much paranormal interest when top-secret projects and experimental technology leave plenty of room for the imaginative mind to fill in the blanks. Area 51, the Philadelphia Experiment and UFO sightings have had their time in the spotlight. Now another, more recent project from the speculation generator is getting attention. Called remote viewing, it is basically another term for ESP or astral projection.

Remote viewing is described as "acquisition by mental means of information that is normally shielded by distance, space or time." Basically, it's putting together a rough description of an object or area through sketches and symbols and by intuiting characteristics such as "wet," "mountainous" or "solid" while in a trancelike or meditative state. Even the military and CIA supposedly tried it in order to keep up with the Soviet Union, which was pumping rubles into psychic warfare from the late '60s to mid-'70s. In this manner, remote viewing was supposed to be an intelligence-gathering method for areas or targets that weren't reachable by other means. The program was disbanded after several years on the government-money gravy train.

Before long, other people wanted a piece of the psychic pie, creating a market for books, self-teaching videotapes, workshops, classes and crash courses. In that spirit, Wayne Carr, a licensed psychologist with a background in meditation, martial arts, re-birthing and breathwork--a New Age Renaissance man, if you will--will offer a two-day workshop that teaches both beginning and intensive remote viewing techniques. The course is designed so participants can take home the knowledge to explore places, concepts and beings; find missing persons and events in the past, future and on alternate time lines; and predict earth changes.

Wayne Carr teaches the remote viewing workshop from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Tuition is $245 per person or $350 per couple. Call (214) 522-7019 or (972) 385-1200.

We would recommend the attendees begin by targeting themselves for a reality check.
