Ask your mother what her worst nightmare is, and she'll probably answer something to the effect of, "Waking up next to your father for 25 years." Ask your daughter the same question, and she'll probably say, "Turning out like you, hellbitch." Based on these responses, you might realize that you have a dysfunctional family. But your worst nightmares are nothing compared to what Kristina Wandzilak and Constance Curry have been through. The subject of their dual memoir, The Lost Years: Surviving a Mother and Daughter's Worst Nightmare is about how daughter Kristina spent her youthhomeless, poor and addicted to drugs and alcoholand her mother, Constance's, attempts to bring her back from the edge.
