If you’re looking for interesting, inspired and irreverent stage performances, then head directly to see the veterans at Undermain Theatre (3200 Main St.). Its current production of Burying Our Father: A Biblical Debacle, written by Fred Curchack, puts a new spin on the tale of Isaac and Ishmael as they meet in the Cave of the Patriarchs, one of the most sacred sites in the world. Curchack is joined by Laura Jorgensen in the two-man show, which manages to take Bible and Quran stories and mix them with touches of comedy, drama, music, dance and magic — all the makings of a holy war. Father knows best, and Abraham was the granddaddy of it all, so watch as his sons gather together in the final week of Burying Our Father: A Biblical Debacle at the Undermain at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Tickets are $15 Wednesdays and Thursdays and $20 to $25 for weekend performances through November 17. Call 214-747-5515 or visit undermain.org.
Wednesdays-Saturdays. Starts: Oct. 31. Continues through Nov. 17, 2012
