Have You Gone Green?
The guys from Jackass may put their bodies through hilariously painful self-inflicted stunts, Bam Margera may be an asshole expert when it comes to tormenting family members with cruel, mindless pranks, and Ashton Kutcher's elaborate hidden-video scenarios have tricked many a celebrity. But it was Tom Green who first baffled MTV audiences with bizarre antics that blurred the lines between social experiment, performance art and crude prank. In between his spaced-out interviews with celebrities on The Tom Green Show, he would accost passersby with a bullhorn, commandeer department-store intercoms or suck milk directly from a cow udder. He also perfected the art of parental torture, having lesbian pornography airbrushed on his parents' car and placing a severed cow head in their bed. The show ended after his bout with testicular cancer (which he documented on the show), giving way to later versions leading up to his current Web-only call-in talk show, Tom Green's House Tonight. Whether his awkward humor works onstage is debatable, but every moment he's doing stand-up is a moment that he's not making another Freddie Got Fingered. He performs 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Friday; 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Saturday; and 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Addison Improv, 4980 Belt Line Road. Tickets ($20 to $22) and more information are at 972-404-8501 or improv.com.
