When Al Gore comes through town later this week, it's anybody's guess what he might talk about. I mean, dude was the vice president. He's got more than a few stories to tell, you'd think. Perhaps he'll talk about the glorious economic prosperity of the Clinton/Gore years or revisit his harrowing yet ultimately futile campaign in the 2000 presidential election. Maybe he'll tell us why he grew out that grizzled prospector beard after getting the shit end of the stick in the Electoral College, or maybe he'll talk about the Rolling Stone cover where you can kinda see the outline of Li'l Albert in the crotch of his Dockers. He could talk about how his wife put warning labels on music and how he put ratings on TV shows. Maybe he'll bypass politics altogether and just talk about inventing the Internet. He invented the Internet, right? That's gotta be a cool experience. One would imagine he'd have some insight to share, having single-handedly created the most important technological advancement of the last 100 years. So maybe he'll talk about the world wide interweb information highway. Or maybe he'll plug Current TV, his successful, independent, youth-oriented news and views network. I mean, he could talk about any number of things. With elections coming up he may take the opportunity to endorse local Democrats or to criticize the use of torture, secret prison camps and warrantless wiretapping in the Bush administration's war on terror. Oh, wait. Says here in the press release that Gore will be discussing something called "An Inconvenient Truth—a stunning multimedia presentation confronting environmental issues and their impact on our world." Hmm. I wonder if that's, like, an allusion to the Iraq War or something.
