Star-y garland halo's that had 15 different colors of curling ribbon draping off of them to create the most perfect princess/angel head gear, that's what I always bought at the craft shows mom dragged me to as a child. Sure the ribbons would uncurl and the garland was itchy across my forehead, but I held on to those things as long as possible. Well, at least until the next crafty excursion. I haven't been to an expo of homemade goods in a while but the online version, Etsy, is one of my favorite time-passers. Bonus: The creativeness goes way beyond ribbon halos, e.g. prints, jewels, and crocheted neck warmers. Plus one of the crafties makes flair buttons! (The real life kind, not the virtual Facebook kind.) The Etsy Dallas Jingle Bash featuring local arts and crafters takes place Saturday from 3 to 10 p.m. at Sons of Hermann Hall, 3414 Elm St. Admission is free and so is the karaoke. Visit etsydallas.com for more info or a sneak peak of the goods.
Sat., Nov. 22, 3-10 p.m., 2008
