It’s Hot Out: Lord What Fools These Mortals Be.
Everyone seems to have a soft spot for A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Maybe that’s because of an inspired reading in high school, or perhaps it’s just that we love characters named Bottom, Snug and Snout. Really it’s because we all got sucked into Neil Perry’s love of the play, his father be damned. But Shakespeare’s famous comedy of meddlesome fairies contorting the love lives of mortals is a classic crowd pleaser, so its inclusion in this season of Shakespeare in the Park is a surefire way to get Dallasites out of the air conditioning for at least one summer night. Pack a nice picnic and enjoy Sunday’s 7 p.m. show at Samuell-Grand Amphitheatre, 1500 Tenison Parkway. Performances continue Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays through July 20. Tickets are $10 with senior and student tickets for $7. Call 214-559-2778 or visit shakespearedallas.org.
Tuesdays, Saturdays, Sundays. Starts: June 23. Continues through July 20, 2013
