Life Moves Pretty Fast. Slow Down With Art.
There’s just one more day to go until that fat paycheck comes in, but somehow you’ve still managed to find yourself penniless and in desperate need of entertainment. Well, if you can scrounge together enough change from between your couch cushions to get yourself to Cowtown for the night, then you’re in luck, because it’s raining free fun at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art (3501 Camp Bowie Blvd.). This Thursday you can soak in a bit of culture as you view the museum’s full collection during extended hours and then set up shop on the lawn as you take in one of John Hughes’ greatest movies, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, as part of its Sunset Cinema outdoor film series. Grab your significant other, the most illness-inclined friend you can find and a picnic basket full of sausage and join the campaign to save Ferris at 6 p.m. at the Amon Carter. Call 817-738-1933 or visit cartermuseum.org.
