Work off those unwanted winter pounds stomping through the wilds of Fair Park during Dino Dash's 10K, 5K or 1K fun run/walk. Or if you're already sleek as a raptor and don't want to sweat, donate Dino Dollars to help The Science Place in Fair Park continue fulfilling the needs of more than 200,000 children each year. All proceeds from Dino Dash benefit area underserved youths by funding structured educational school programs and hands-on guided field trips. Prizes include Southwest Airlines tickets, Texas Motor Speedway passes and renowned hand-painted Dino trophies. During the Discovery Fest, rub shoulders with celebrities, participate in free interactive exhibits, enter the dinosaur costume contest and make that last-minute Mother's Day gift. Dino Dash and Discovery Fest are 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Registrations ranging from $10 to $20 can be made on site at 6:30 a.m. or online at www.dinodash.com. Full Nelson

Look, I could bore you with a bunch of pretentious putt-putt pillow talk, but who are we kidding? You can barely stay awake watching golf. Now comes this year's Byron Nelson Golf Tournament, and your attempt to impress friends with your supposed love of golf just backfired into a free ticket. I have your cheat sheet. First, John Byron Nelson: still alive, native Texan, famous professional golfer. Second, various pro golfers will duke it out for major prize money. Finally, yes, they sell alcohol. Even better? Sneak away for brunch and a spa treatment--this is the Four Seasons after all. When you quietly re-emerge for the tournament finale, you'll be the only one sporting a fresh mani/pedi and glowing skin. The 2005 Byron Nelson Golf Tournament runs May 11 through May 15 at The Four Seasons Resort & Club at Las Colinas, 4150 N. MacArthur Blvd. Tickets are available by calling Ticketmaster at 214-373-8000. --Christopher Wynn

Life Givers

5/6

This job is not without its perks. You can go to any sporting event, any concert for free. Dress the way you want--or if you work from home, not dress at all. Criticize any public official you don't like or, better yet, don't know--hey, Laura Miller, you suck--and watch that criticism make it to the published page. But the job has its downfalls, too. Namely, writing about every 5K, 10K and marathon run in Dallas that benefits this group or that foundation. There must be 50 every year, and each one reads no different from the rest. Until now. The American Cancer Society Relay for Life starts May 6 at 7:30 p.m. and finishes May 7 at 7 a.m. That's right: an all-nighter. The run takes place at Mountain View College East Campus, 4849 W. Illinois Ave. The registration fee is $25 per team, which is eight to 15 people. Register online at www.cancer.org/relayonline or call 1-800-ACS-2345. --Paul Kix
