Memories Live On
Beginning Saturday, Dallas art fans and fanatics will have the fortunate opportunity to behold the imagination of the late Houston artist Virgil Grotfeldt. Virgil Grotfeldt: Memories and Transformations will feature the works of a man who used "the anthropological, sociological and geological composition of our world" as the basis for his artistic endeavors. Grotfeldt was an internationally renowned artist whose work is featured in galleries and museums all over the world. His work has been compared to the paintings of Victor Hugo and the style and technique of Jackson Pollock. Memories and Transformations will run until March 20 at the Holly Johnson Gallery, 1411 Dragon St., open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call 214-369-0169.
