Before you attend the Live Raptor Presentation at the Heard Natural Science Museum & Sanctuary, remember that these 6-foot-tall beasts with retractable claws and mouths full of razor-sharp teeth terrorized young children in Jurassic Park and have a reputation as vicious and cunning killers. So when the Heard says its Live Raptor Presentation will be "fun" and "educational"--um, yeah, right. If you call being chased by velociraptors--oh, wait. Scratch that--they're not talking about that kind of raptor. These raptors are actually alive and kickin', and include birds of prey like ospreys and bald eagles. The presentation guarantees to get you closer to raptors (still cunning killers) than you've ever been before. Adult admission is $5, children ages 3 to 12 are $3. The presentation starts at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Heard, 1 Nature Place in McKinney. For more information, call 972-562-5566 or visit heardmuseum.org.
