OK, we love a guy who says "eff you" to his town and lets a bunch (500,000, to be exact) of hippies party down for a few days while listening to some groovy music on his farm. He even...wait...oh no, we're doing it again. We're confusing reality with movies. Last time this happened we really thought there was a planet full of blue cat-like people. Dammit. Anyway, we were talking about Demetri Martin and his character Elliot Tiber in Taking Woodstock. Well, we still love a guy who can play a character who tells his town to "eff off." The 37-year-old is also a stand-up comedian who has been featured on Comedy Central in various programs--including The Daily Show--and now even has his own show on the network called Important Things with Demetri Martin. Oh, and he was also a writer for our beloved Coco on Late Night with Conan O'Brien. Seriously, how could you not love this guy? Turns out he will be in town this Friday at the House of Blues (2200 North Lamar St.) telling jokes and stuff to a room full of people. Tickets are $35. Call 214-978-2583 or visit houseofblues.com.
