It must be weird to have the same name as someone famous. I don't deal with this issue because my name is unique and special, but I do know a chick named Aimee Mann. Or, take Paul Greco, for example, an artist whose work is part of the (free!) exhibit Tactile, on display through October 9 at the Brazos Gallery at Richland College, 12800 Abrams Road. Admit it: The second you saw the word "artist" and then the name "Greco," you thought of El Greco. (If not, you must not know El Greco. For shame.) But, see, Paul Greco works with collage, which was not really El Greco's cup of tea. So you never know. The other artists on display are David Connolly (Jennifer Connelly! Large-scale paintings and drawings!) and Harmony Padgett (I got nothing for the name, but she offers abstract paintings). For more information, call 972-238-6339 or visit richlandcollege.edu/art.
Mondays-Fridays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Starts: Sept. 14. Continues through Oct. 9, 2009
