No Fury, But Also No Cross-Dressing
If you know nothing else about Tyler Perry, you should know about his ability to prodigiously produce material and you should be in awe of it. He writes and directs his own stuff for theater and movies, and even stars in other people’s work, like the action movie Alex Cross. Really, that’s not a joke, Tyler Perry was the lead in an action movie. Turns out he’s pretty spry when he’s not dressed as a grandmother. But Hell Hath No Fury Like a Woman Scorned, opening at 8 p.m. Friday at the Verizon Theatre at Grand Prairie, 1001 Performance Place, is more in line with Perry’s usual work. It follows the romantic life of Anita Lincoln, a successful woman taking care of her sister Mona and her Aunt Hattie, as Anita deals with the fickle nature of relationships. Tickets are $45.50 and available online. For more information, visit verizontheatre.com.
