Now Seizing Our Attention
Yang Jin Long came of age in the intellectually and creatively stifling environment of post-Cultural Revolution China. Apparently, the result of leaving behind such a tightly wound upbringing is to create vibrantly colorful art that looks like it belongs on the cover of a '70s prog-rock album. In other words, awesome. Seizing the New World: Recent Paintings by Yang Jin Long is on display 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays through Sundays, beginning this Saturday and running through April 18 at The Trammell & Margaret Crow Collection of Asian Art, 2010 Flora St. Admission is free. Call 214-979-6430 or visit crowcollection.com.
Fridays-Sundays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Tuesdays-Thursdays, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Starts: Jan. 23. Continues through April 18, 2010
