Oh, Baby, Baby
Let me tell you what a tasteless place the Dallas Observer is. See, some of the staff was talking about the American Baby Faire coming to Dallas Market Hall this Saturday and Sunday, and one sick, sick man, whom we won't disgrace by naming (Noah Bailey), said, "Babies on a stick? They're good eatin'." Frankly, that's just appalling. Why, everyone knows that fair babies are best served dipped in funnel cake batter and deep-fried. Really, what is wrong with these peop...oh, wait. It's a fair for babies or, more precisely, their parents. "The nation's largest baby show," as it calls itself, doesn't even offer freakishly humongous infants (damn), just tons of the latest products, furniture, safety gear and info for new parents and parents-to-be. There's also musical storytelling for the kids and the Babies 'R' Us Baby Derby races. The fair is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $8, and grandparents and children younger than 12 are admitted free. Oh, and that whole deep-fried thing? Long story. Don't ask. Let's just say I was never asked to baby-sit again. Call 1-877-959-BABY.
Sat., April 29, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sun., April 30, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
