Disney is nothing if not a multi-tasker. The fairy tale conglomerate has its hand in everything from juice boxes to dinnerware to upholstery to personal care items. It has TV shows and (obviously) movies, and a radio station. And just when you thought you could leave your house, get out of your car and escape the reach of that ubiquitous little mouse, your little one pipes up with a request to see another iteration of the Magic Kingdom…this time on ice. That’s right—in the very same place where people mop blood up off the frozen surface post-Stars games, Disney brings us lithe, athletic princesses on ice skates. Disney on Ice: Dare to Dream envelops your impressionable youths in a world where you don’t need a masters degree as long as there’s a prince who will whisk you away. Dare to dream, indeed. Ah, but reality is as cold as the ice that Rapunzel spins along…and all the Disney juice boxes and dinnerware and beautiful princesses are what keep our kids sweet and naïve…and kids. I’ll gladly shell out the $15 to $75 for that. Dare to Dream runs on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from March 28 until April 8 at American Airlines Center, 2500 Victory Avenue. Buy your tickets at ticketmaster.com.
Wednesdays-Sundays. Starts: March 28. Continues through April 8, 2012
