Open Wide For Party Mouth
It’s 1968 and a couple of bored girls from Mesquite venture into Big D to find some thrills in Party Mouth, the latest new play from avant garde actor, playwright and director Matthew Posey, founder of the Ochre House Theater near Fair Park. Elizabeth Evans plays “Baby Doll” and Natalie Young is “Bunny” in what Posey’s calling a “left-brained musical comedy.” Expect outrageous humor, Japanese Bunraku puppets, live music, dancing and Warholian weirdness. Posey’s wildly talented “Ochre House Boys” ensemble includes Trenton Stephenson, Justin Locklear, Mitchell Parrack, Josh Jordan, Carla Parker and Kevin Grammer. This street-level space can be cramped and hot, but that’s what makes it a happening, right? Just pretend you’re hanging at The Factory with Andy and Edie. Showtimes are 8:15 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays until September 29 at 825 Exposition Ave. For the cheapskates: There’s a pay-what-you-can performance on Monday, September 24. Regular shows run $15, payable in cash or check at the door. Call 214-826-6273 or visit ochrehousetheater.com.
Wednesdays-Saturdays. Starts: Sept. 20. Continues through Sept. 28, 2012
