Psycho From Texas
We miss the drive-in theater. Sure the Internet may have made it easier to watch films that cater to our most basic and sleaziest drives, but where's the sense of community? Where's the feeling that you aren't the only sick bastard who enjoys watching torture porn and movies that find interesting new uses for power tools and personal massagers, often in the very same scene? The Texas Theatre's latest attempt to remind humanity that killer B-movies are better in a crowd will happen at 9:15 p.m. Thursday with a screening of a 35-mm print of the 1975 exploitation classic Psycho from Texas (also known as Wheeler) hosted by the Alamo Drafthouse's "Weird Wednesday" founder and Austin Film Society Programmer Lars Nilsen. The Texas Theatre is located at 231 W. Jefferson Blvd. Tickets are $5 and the show begins at 9:15. Visit thetexastheatre.com for more details.
