Sexy Time

Before my parents' divorce, they began taking Latin dance lessons together. When my mother told a friend about their evenings gliding across the dance floor, the friend raised an eyebrow and asked, "Is it working?" In the end, not even the sultry, sensuous tango could save that relationship, but it may not be too late for you. Forever Tango, which has won awards throughout the country and the world and recently wrapped up a third run on Broadway, brings the romance of tango to the Majestic Theatre, 1925 Elm St., this Friday through Sunday. With 14 dancers, one vocalist and an 11-piece orchestra, the performance chronicles the birth of tango in the bars and bordellos of 19th-century Argentina. Initially shunned by Argentina's upper class as indecent, the tango spread across Europe and America, eventually catching on in Argentine society. Forever Tango was created by renowned cellist Luis Bravo, who has played with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Colon Theatre Opera House, the Buenos Aires Philharmonic and other orchestras. Tickets are $42 to $67. Call 214-373-8000 or visit
