Shhhh! Don't Tell!
Having attended a PostSecret event in the past, there are so many secrets we want to reveal. Should we divulge the details of which never-before-seen postcards Frank displayed? Or, should we recount Frank's own personal secrets that he shared with the audience? No, friends, the answer is no. That kind of behavior just isn't in the spirit of what PostSecret is all about: Creating a worldwide community through the shared experience of common secrets. That means honesty and acceptance, not lies and betrayal. If you've been hiding under a rock for the past few years, we'll explain: PostSecret is an ongoing art project created by Frank Warren, in which people from all over the world anonymously mail their secrets to his home address, and he chooses select ones to appear on the PostSecret blog at postsecret.com. (Note: Secrets are updated every Sunday morning, and are sometimes the highlight of our week.) And, now, Frank Warren himself will speak Thursday in the Silver Eagle Suite at UNT's University Union, 1155 Union Circle in Denton. Tickets are $20, $10 for senior citizens, UNT faculty/staff and non-UNT students and free for UNT students. For tickets, call 940-565-3805 or visit the Information Center Desk at UNT's University Union. For more information, visit unt.edu/fas.
