Sloppy Food, Clean Art
In retaliation to, or complement of — depending on your view — the Dallas Art Fair, we get a few offshoot events that are decidedly Ours. The Fallas Dart Air 2013 Low and Slow is that kind of affair. Pawing haphazardly at the conventional niceness of the Champagne-soaked shopping bender happening in the Arts District is this local project being held at a Deep Ellum barbecue joint. Put a bib on, use a wetnap, then check out work by the weirdos of Centraltrak, Dick Higgins Gallery, Fort Worth Drawing Center, Mai Koetjecacov Editions Wichita Falls, Oliver Francis Gallery, The Public Trust, Secret Fun, semigloss. Magazine, Shamrock Hotel Studios and Studio DTFU in a show organized by Ludwig Schwarz, Peter Ligon and Michael Mazurek, who served up spaghetti at last year’s Fallas Dart Air. Bonus: According to Yelp, the pulled pork is where it’s at. Looking at art is free 7 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday at Mama Faye’s BBQ, 2933 Commerce St. Visit fallasdartair.com.
