Slow-Moving Scaries

Dallas Children's Theater has decided to put on another "live" performance of Night of the Living Dead. The teenagers loved it last year. And hey, why wouldn't they? There's something very life-affirming about the dead returning to devour the living. I mean we certainly can't judge the zombies for their insatiable craving for human flesh. For one thing they're completely mindless and instinct-driven (not unlike teenagers). Also, what would you do if a radioactive satellite plummeted to earth and animated your corpse? No bones about it, you would dig your way out of the ground, and you would be furious. "Hey, I'm trying to get some sleep down here," you'd cry. Then the first whiff of the living would hit you, and you'd think of all the things they were enjoying up there while you lay in the grave rotting away. That's when the jealous hunger would begin to grow in your defunct belly. But I digress. Night of the Living Dead runs Friday through November 3 in the Studio Theater at the Rosewood Center for Family Arts, 5938 Skillman St. For tickets, call 214-740-0051 or visit
Fridays, Saturdays, 7:30 p.m.; Sundays, 1:30 p.m.; Saturdays, 10 p.m.; Wed., Oct. 31, 7:30 p.m. Starts: Oct. 12. Continues through Oct. 27, 2007
