You wonder how vegetarians do it. How do they crave a measly plate of tofu over a nice, juicy steak? After 15 years without meat, artist and veteran vegetarian Carrie Marill finally indulged in local culinary haute cuisine, inspiring her latest work, The Splendid Table, a collection of portraits each featuring an animal she scarfed down on recent a trip to Italy. Marill will team up with artists Susie Phillips and Gabriel Dawe to exhibit their latest works. Phillips will feature several new large-scale collages she calls Crazy Work, while University of Texas at Dallas graduate student Gabriel Dawe will create a site-specific installation at the gallery. The exhibitions will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays through May 1 at Conduit Gallery, 1626 C Hi Line Drive. Admission is free.
