The tango--perhaps the sexiest dance known to man--was birthed in the brothels and rundown neighborhoods of old Argentina. The word means "a place for slaves to meet." There's no doubt many, many lovers--enslaved or not--have met through the embrace of the tango. We Americans are familiar with the (still sexy) ballroom version showcased in musicals like Moulin Rouge and Chicago. For the real thing, loaded with sensuality and passion galore, shimmy on over to Bass Performance Hall to experience Tango Buenos Aires. The Argentine company of dancers and musicians has prepared a "fire and passion program" of tango straight from the land of its origin. This ain't no Dancing with the Stars, folks. Prepare to do some serious self-fanning with your program. Tango Buenos Aires performs 7:30 p.m. Monday at Bass Performance Hall, Fourth and Calhoun streets in Fort Worth. Tickets are $25 to $55. Buy tickets through the box office at 817-212-4280 or online at basshall.com.
