Taking the Shine Off Golden Boys
What ever happened to Matt Damon and Ben Affleck? They grew up together, they won awards together, and, with their dating history, who knows what else they’ve done together … but honestly, who cares about their future? We’re still more interested in their past. As two guys we love to hate, Matt and Ben have been much more than Hollywood stars — they were the subject of the viciously witty and snarkily entertaining two-woman show Matt and Ben. Co-written by and co-starring Mindy Kaling and Brenda Withers, the show rocked the off-Broadway world when it debuted almost 10 years ago, and it’s just as hilarious now. Though seldom performed in these parts, this week you’ll get a chance to see a special reading of Matt and Ben as the Echo Theatre presents a free performance of the hit play as part of the “Echo Reads” series. Matt and Ben takes center stage at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Bath House Cultural Center, 521 E. Lawther Drive. Call 214-904-0500 or visit echotheatre.org.
