Tapping In The Street
Tap dancing is probably one of the most underrated art forms of all time. Even though Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire and Gregory Hines made it look easy and badass, nowadays everyone thinks ballroom dancing is the superior dancing style. Show me Tap Dancing With The Stars and then I'll be impressed, Chad Ochocinco. For those people interested in seeing some truly impressive and astounding tap dancing (and singing and dancing and other theater skills), Garland Summer Musicals' production of 42nd Street provides precisely that opportunity. Enjoy this classic theatrical look at the ins and outs of putting on a Broadway show at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2:30 p.m. Sundays through July 25 at the Granville Arts Center, 300 North Fifth St. in Garland. Tickets are $27, or $25 for seniors and students and $21 for youths. Call 972-205-2790 or visit garlandsummermusicals.org for more information.
Fridays, 2:30 p.m.; Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m. Starts: July 16. Continues through July 25, 2010
