The Art of Change
Change is difficult. Change is emotional. Change is also fun and inspiring and often leads to growth. Just look at the Ice House Cultural Center as it nears its final days and prepares to morph into a new location, a new being: the Oak Cliff Cultural Center. For years, the Ice House has brought art, education and new experiences to people within and around its walls, and right up to the closing of its doors, it continues to do so with a retrospective of artists who have proven vital to Oak Cliff and to the center itself. Reflections of Our Past, Visions of Our Future is a group exhibition featuring the works of Magda Bowen, Martin Campos, Carlos Quadra, Patricia Rodriguez, Cheryl Francis, Elliot Snedden, Samuel Torres and so many others. The show will run Tuesdays through Saturdays through September 18 at 1004 W. Page St. Pay homage to a legendary place...and get excited about its successor. Call 214-670-7524 or visit dallasculture.org.
Tuesdays-Fridays, 1-6 p.m.; Saturdays, 12-6 p.m. Starts: Aug. 14. Continues through Sept. 12, 2009
