If you've ever sipped martinis while listening to Mötley Crüe, then the art of Michael Godard is probably right up your alley. Looking something like a long-lost sibling of illusionist Criss Angel and ill-advised Garth Brooks alter ego Chris Gaines, Godard is mostly known for his cheesy, cartoonish depictions of Las Vegas-style vices. And amazingly his paintings of hockey-playing olives, cigar-smoking grapes and topless, stripping strawberries sell well enough for his Web site to proclaim him the "No. 1 best-selling artist in the U.S." Coincidentally, Godard has also appeared on Criss Angel's reality show, Mindfreak, as well as other examples of quality programming such as A&E's Inked and HBO's Cat House. But when he's not hanging out in tattoo parlors and whorehouses, Godard is admirably raising money for charity, though we're assuming he might have to launder it first. Meet the man himself from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at his Oh My Godard Gallery (6121 W. Park Blvd., Suite C226, in Plano), where he'll appear on the latest stop of his Don't Drink and Draw Tour. A word to the wise people of Plano: Godard is sometimes accompanied by a go-go dancer and two dwarves dressed as an olive and a grape, so no, it's not the drugs this time.
