A respected television reporter for CBS News for a generation, Bernard Goldberg wrote about a perceived liberal bias in the media in his best-seller Bias. Although the book included several compelling anecdotes that corroborated parts of his premise, Bias read more like a collection of rants to bring up in a barroom argument than a thorough analysis of the political leanings of the mainstream press. Goldberg hoped that his self-professed liberal leanings would give his arguments credibility, but what he needed instead was a little less talk and a lot more facts. Bernard Goldberg will be signing his new venture, Crazies to the Left of Me, Wimps to the Right, at the Barnes & Noble at Lincoln Park 7 p.m. Thursday. Call 214-739-1124.
