The Hunt For Red Tearjerker
The movie 12 is a Russian adaptation of the classic 12 Angry Men, with 12 jurors deciding the fate of a Chechen boy accused of murdering his Russian stepfather. Directed by Nikita Mikhalkov, the film received a Golden Lion from the Venice Film Festival and was subsequently nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. The most telling review came not from the press or the film industry, however, but from former Russian president Vladimir Putin, who claimed the film "brought a tear to the eye." Obviously, anything that can make that steely-eyed sumbitch cry is worth a look-see. Luckily for you, 12 screens at 6 and 8:45 p.m. Friday, 5 p.m. Saturday and 2 and 4:45 p.m. Sunday at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, 3200 Darnell St. Tickets are $8.50.
