The Not-So-Secret Garden

I have always loved that book The Secret Garden. It's very British, and while the little girl, Mary, may have been a brat, at least she didn't take any lip from anybody. But I digress--this has nothing to do with the All Texas Garden Show, except for the whole "garden"...

I have always loved that book The Secret Garden. It's very British, and while the little girl, Mary, may have been a brat, at least she didn't take any lip from anybody. But I digress--this has nothing to do with the All Texas Garden Show, except for the whole "garden" thing, of course. This weekend's show will be a gardener's paradise, with lectures about bee charming, how to grow orchids and urban backyard farming. If none of this has quite tipped the scales, there will also be lots of gardening paraphernalia to admire. Now might finally be the time to buy that second miniature waterfall for the front yard, or maybe add another gnome to the side garden. The All Texas Garden Show takes place from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Arlington Convention Center, 1200 Ballpark Way. Tickets are $9, $7 for seniors. Visit thehomeandgardenmarket.com.
Fri., Feb. 26, 1-7 p.m.; Sat., Feb. 27, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sun., Feb. 28, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., 2010
