The Original Carrot Top
From the early 1940s through the early 1960s, Danny Kaye was one of the best-known and best-loved names in comedy and music. His playful delivery and obvious love for his material translated on the screen and across generations. Through more than 20 movies and numerous TV appearances, including his own extremely popular The Danny Kaye Show, he never forgot that the most important part of performing is the performance itself. He seemed to have the ability to make every song his own without sacrificing the mass appeal that keeps those tunes and scenes in the memories of millions of fans worldwide. If you missed out on the Danny Kaye phenomenon the first time around, or just want to relive the magic, Theatre Three gives you a golden opportunity to remember the magical world of Danny Kaye. Veteran stage and screen performer Don Alan Croll brings his celebrated one-man tribute, Songs of the Redhead: The Music of Danny Kaye, to town through January 24 in Theatre Too at Theatre Three (in the Quadrangle).
