The Undersea World On a String
Dubbed “the most unique children’s entertainment in Dallas,” Le Theatre de Marionette has been pulling kids’ strings for more than 20 years, and they’re staying the path this month with a production of Hans Christian Andersen’s beloved tale The Little Mermaid. Kids will be delighted by the performance, which includes more than 60 marionettes, as Ariel’s familiar story is given the old-school puppeteering treatment. Put away the Disney DVDs and take the kids out to Le Theatre de Marionette for some live puppet action at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Palace Arts Center, 300 S. Main St. in Grapevine. Included with admission is a marionette demonstration and behind-the-scenes look at the magic of puppetry, followed by some face time with Ariel herself. The Little Mermaid runs through August 15. Tickets are $10 for children and $12 for adults, with group rates available. Call 469-442-1919 or visit letheatredemarionette.com.
Mondays-Saturdays. Starts: July 22. Continues through Aug. 15, 2013
