Those Crazy Kids Will Work It Out. Right?
Love is too weak a word for our feelings toward the Texas Theatre. We luuurve it. Loave it. Luff it. Because the richly historical Oak Cliff haunt (231 W. Jefferson Blvd.) is just the type of joint you’ll find Woody Allen’s 1977 tour de force, Annie Hall, on 35mm. Emblematically New York, quintessentially Allen, Annie Hall is the thinly veiled autobiographical love story between introspective comedian Alvy Singer and tightly wound Midwesterner and aspiring lounge singer Annie Hall. An endearingly pretentious intellectual’s rom-com, Annie Hall proves that crippling neuroses know no ethnicity, religion or geographical region. Rated PG, the film brought home Academy Awards for best picture, director, writer and actress. Catch it Thursday — at 7:30 p.m. Call 214-948-1546 and check thetexastheatre.com for more details.
