Photographer Todd Eberle is obsessed not only with the photogenic subjects of pop culture and architecture, but also with how our cultural artifacts reflect upon us as a society. His newest exhibit, America, collects 11 years' worth of photographs taken on his travels throughout the country, from pictures of pop icons like Dolly Parton to images of Yale's Skull and Bones club and Disney World--where Eberle captured the silhouettes of a statue of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse juxtaposed against the sky at dusk, as if these two American legends were watching the sun set on an era. Los Angeles artist John Parot also plays with pop culture images in his Can't Rewind exhibit, but in a much more personal fashion, examining his "psycho-social roots as a gay man in contemporary society" while combining his own drawings with disembodied facial features "appropriated from porn and fashion magazines."
