The booze is a flowin', the guns are going off and the cowboys--or cowgirls, in this case--are ready to ride off into the sunset. Sounds like a good ol' rootin', tootin' time, doesn't it? Can you hear the "yeehaws" and the "ride 'em cowboys"? Welcome to Jane Martin's Wild, Wild West, also known as the Flaming Guns of the Purple Sage. Hold on to your hats there, partners, because it's going to be one bumpy ride. At least there will be several laughs along the way. Big 8 is just your average, everyday female rancher. Middle-aged and in love with knocking back the cool ones, her life is one big party until her unconventional relationship with an injured cowboy is ruined by her ranch's potential foreclosure, a prodigal son and a Southern floozy on the run from a Harley Davidson wannabe. Did we mention the gunfights, too? It's not easy being a cowgirl. Flaming Guns of the Purple Sage is presented by Theatre Three and plays through August 8 at Theatre Too, 2800 Routh St. Tickets are $20 to $30. For tickets and showtimes, call 214-871-3300 or visit theatre3dallas.com.
Thursdays-Sundays. Starts: July 9. Continues through Aug. 8, 2010
