I had the privilege of being in one of Teatro Dallas' productions back in their old downtown space. A budding actor, I had dreams of Academy and People's Choice Awards and director Cora Cardona took a small chance on me, albeit with a mid-sized role. But for that one moment in time, I felt like a star—because she challenged my talents beyond measure. As an Indian slave and street merchant, I'm quite certain I stole the show from everyone. Don't tell Christine Vela, the "star," but I think all eyes were on me during that run. Treat yourself to Cardona's new directorial effort, Bad Blood, written by Argentinean playwright Griselda Gambaro. See the show Friday at the Teatro Dallas theater, 1331 Record Crossing Road. Call 214-689-6492.
Thursdays-Saturdays, 8:15 p.m.; Sundays, 3 p.m. Starts: April 7. Continues through May 7
