Trick-or-Treat With The Bonobos
You know what’s scary? Buying or making your kids a Halloween costume and only putting it to use once. There’s a lot of effort required: thinking up a great concept and assembling the pieces is labor-heavy, especially for one night of trick-or-treating. I personally believe that you should hit up every major player on the fall-festival circuit, sign up for every day-care or school costume party and get some mileage outta that Little Orphan Annie outfit you slaved over (the Etsy website for). The Dallas Zoo (650 S. R.L. Thornton Freeway) should definitely be a stop on your costume tour this year, as they give your little monster a chance to show off their Halloween finery at the Halloween Nights event, which runs from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday the 25th through Sunday the 28th. This special event is light on the scares but full of fun for costumed little ones with special stage shows, creepy-crawlies to stare at in the Reptile House, trick-or-treating in the Lacerte Family Children’s Zoo and at Zoo North, and a backward-spinning carousel (which could actually become scary depending on the amount of candy your child has consumed prior). Tickets are $10 per person for everyone older than 2 ($8 for zoo members) and include six candy coupons. Visit dallaszoo.com/event/halloween-nights-4 for more.
